i thought i might post any of the tips i know to help people with playing sims 2
to bring up cheat box hold down ctrl+shift+c Cheats: boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true (if used in neigborhood screen, when you go to a family you can drag their moods, skills & personality levels up & down) aspirationLevel 6 (max's out the aspiration Level)
maxmotives (max's out the needs) forcetwins (if used while sims is pregnate, it makes the sim have twins note:must be used before labour)
motherlode (gives 50000 simoleons) kaching (gives 1000 simoleons) help (shows all cheats)
Tips: Tombstone of life & death:if you have used the boolProp cheat (boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true) in the neigborhood screen, go into a family & while holding down shift, click on a sim & then you get some options one of which is spawn, click on this & you can spawn things, one is called the tombstone of L and D click this & a tombstone will apear next to your sim, you can click on the tombstone & get options such as make sim pregnate or kill sim.
Cheesecake:im not exactly sure on how you get the cheesecake, but i have been told that if a pregnate sim eats some they will have twins.
cheap study: to do this make a sim study then once they are studying delete the bookcase, you will get all the money back & you can still study using the book that the sim still has out.
thats about all the cheats & tips i know, anyone else know any good cheats or tips for sims 2?

There's a really cool one that my friend uses to make huge lakes that you can swim in. I think it's placeobject or something along those lines that lets you place any object anywhere, and then you place a diving board to go over grass. The Sims will dive into the grass, which will then act like water. (And you can download some textures to make the grass actually look like water, too) The only thing is that you need to make sure the ground is level, or else it'll get glitchy.
I'll have to double check with my friend to see exactly how she does it.

I just checked with my friend, and the cheat is actually "moveobjects on". ^_^.

moveObjects on/off or move_objects on/off is an interesting one, if you want to make a really weird house, or, with the new freetime expansion, want to put a mirror behind the cheapie ballet bar, stuff like that.
I also once saw a tutorial on how to make garages connect to houses WITH foundations and an arched overhang to the driveway, it was really neat, but I can't find it anymore, and I didn't memorize the cheat. Something to do with set perameters off or something like that...if I find it I'll post it.

Well since this is the only Sims 2 thread. I'll just rant.
I've been playing for 4 years now, and for some reason my family got stuck on vacation. Haven gotten around to exploring all options, but still, this bug really messed up my in-frequent gaming.

maybe that's what the new bon voyage patch is for, hehe...I can see it now, entire families of the Sims2 across the world are being stuck on vacation. I once had the opposite problem, I once went on vacation, had plenty of money, time, etc, and my sims stayed one day despite me having picked like...an eight day vacation, and I never ended it myself...who knows what was going on there. I know I've had sims stuck in one spot for days and days, and there was nothing there holding them back, they just couldn't cross this 'line' that I couldn't see that was in the middle of the room...

This is exactly why I'm not going to buy Bon Voyage until they have all the bugs fixed.
